Rivaba Jadeja, Jamnagar North BJP MLA and wife of Indian cricketer Ravindra Jadeja found herself embroiled in a public spat with Jamnagar Member of Parliament (MP) Poonamben Maadam and Jamnagar Mayor Binaben Kothari on Thursday. The heated argument unfolded in full view of the public and was captured on camera, subsequently making rounds on social media platforms.
The altercation, characterised by sharp exchanges, escalated quickly as she kept on humiliating Poonam Madam and Mayor Bina Kothari. At one point, the Jamnagar MP is also heard saying I am sorry just because she apparently appeared to have wanted the public spat to end and Riva to cool down. A video capturing the incident went viral, generating significant attention and sparking discussions across various online platforms, particularly on ‘X’ (formerly known as Twitter), where the clips were widely shared.
Rivaba Jadeja was filmed while participating in a local event attended by both Mayor Binaben Kothari and MP Poonamben Maadam. What began as a routine gathering took a sour turn as a disagreement between the leaders unfolded before the assembled audience. In the video footage, Rivaba can be seen asserting her perspective to the other leaders. Tensions further escalated towards the culmination of the altercation when the term, ‘aukaat’ (status), entered the conversation. Both the Member of Parliament and the Mayor confronted Rivaba for her use of the term, prompting an even more intense exchange. Riva asked Mayor Bina Kothari to “stay within your level and stop acting smart”. Jamnagar MP Poonam Madam gently tried to explain to Riva Jadeja that the mayor was the first citizen and much older than her(Riva). This further infuriated Rivaba Jadeja who then started publicly humiliating MP Poonam Maadam, a senior politician. The public event was a function under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ambitious project, MeriMaatiMeraDesh.
State BJP president C R Paatil called up three of them and rebuked Rivaba Jadeja. This is her first term as a MLA but she has earned quite a few foes because of her temper and anger management issues.
