RSS Chief Demands Population Policy and Release Of Hindu Temples From Govt Control

Addressing RSS volunteers at the annual Vijaya Dashami programme in Nagpur, Mohan Bhagwat Friday touched upon variety of issues ranging from Muslim population to Ayurveda.

 The RSS chief talked about correcting the “growing demographic imbalance caused by differential population growth rates” and reiterated the demand for a population policy that could be used for the next 50 years.

“We will have to be sure of the needs of the population then and the requirements of the young population necessary to take care of the older ones. But along with the balance of population, we will also have to take care of the growing demographic imbalance being observed over the last few years,” Bhagwat said.

Mohan Bhagwat took the opportunity to remind the governments about the RSS resolution of 2015 and attributed the violence following the elections of West Bengal to the appeasement of barbarous elements by the government and population imbalance. He said, a policy that is applicable to all groups in the same fashion is imperative and ‘Infiltrators’ must be deprived of citizenship

Mohan Bhagwat also demanded governments to return all temple property under their control to “Hindu society” Addressing about the issue of Hindu temples in south India, Bhagwat said most Hindu temples there are controlled by the government, and several are also run by trusts. He demanded that it is necessary and that the operating rights of Hindu temples be handed over to the Hindu devotees and the wealth of the Hindu temples is utilised for the welfare of the Hindu community only.

Lakhimpur Kheri incident where a motorcade allegedly led by a Union Minister’s son mowed down four farmers was conspicuous with absence in the speech. He only said, “Different kinds of topsy-turvy (ulte-sidhe) incidents happen in a vast country like ours,”

The RSS chief claimed the people of Jammu and Kashmir have begun enjoying the benefits of the repeal of Article 370., but extremists have started targeted violence to disturb peace. He said that the Government must efficiently deal with them while saying that efforts must be made to win the hearts of the people.

Mohan Bhagwat called for strict curbs on the drug trade and expressed concern on content on streaming platforms. He did not refer to Aryan Khan case explicitly.

The RSS chief referred to the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan also by saying that their predisposition towards terrorism in the name of Islam is sufficient to make everyone apprehensive of the Taliban. He criticised China, Pakistan and Turkey for being soft on Taliban.

Bhagwat called for a balanced approach towards all schools of medicine and wished for integrating “Bharatiya view” in formulations of economic and health policies. In the same breath, he called for an egalitarian society without any caste discrimination.Bhagwat referred to the armed skirmishes between Assam and Meghalaya police and lamented that at times we behave as if we don’t belong to the same country.

Bhagwat stressed use of own language wherever possible saying at the same time that there is no opposition to English, praised the nation for leading the fightback against corona and stressed upon the need for getting rid of single use plastic and increasing green cover in the country. RSS chief said construction of   Ram Temple at Ayodhya made the sports persons elated enough for achieving higher.
