A gunman wearing a black t-shirt with “Nazi symbols” on it has killed 13 people including 7 children and himself in a school in central Russia. The deadly shooting took place in Izhevsk town, in the Udmurtia region about 960 kilometers east of Moscow. The incident left 21 wounded.

The Governor of the province Alexander Brechalov had informed: “There are victims among the children, there are wounded too.” Russia’s interior ministry also confirmed the news later.

The gunman was identified as 34-year-old Artyom Kazantsev. He has graduated from the same school. Such incidents are not as common in Russia as they are in the US. The horrific incident is a great concern for society and the nation in general.

The firing was executed using two non-lethal handguns adapted to fire real bullets. The weapons were unregistered with the authorities.

A probe into the incident is launched by the Russian authorities on charges of multiple murder and illegal possession of firearms.
