About The India Way: Strategies for an Uncertain World

The international order has undergone a significant upheaval in the ten years between the global financial crisis of 2008 and the coronavirus pandemic of 2020. Before our eyes, the fundamental principles and framework of international relations are evolving. To effectively achieve its objectives, India must have the best possible relations with all of the major powers. It also necessitates a more audacious and non-reciprocal strategy for its neighbourhood. India is currently developing a global footprint that takes advantage of its superior competence, relevance, and distinctive diaspora.

India has higher expectations in this time of global turmoil, setting it on the path to becoming a superpower. Indian Minister of External Affairs S. Jaishankar examines these issues in his book The India Way and outlines potential policy solutions. He frames this way of thinking in terms of history and custom, which fits a civilizational force attempting to retake the global stage.
