| Updated: July 13, 2022 20:08

The live-action Scooby-Doo movie released in 2002 that delivered the Mystery Inc. gang an epic adventure has been out for 20 years.

The film grossed over £228million at the box office worldwide, making it a resounding hit with viewers worldwide and thrusting the cast to the forefront of acting talent globally.

Sarah Michelle Gellar

Sarah, the movie’s lead character, was already well-known due to her extended run as Buffy Summers in Buffy The Vampire Slayer. Sarah has experienced continuous success in the film industry. She co-founded her baking kit business, Foodstirs, in 2015, and in 2017 she released her cookbook, Stirring Up Fun With Food. Sarah and her on-screen partner Freddie Prinze Jr married in 2002 and have two children.

Freddie Prinze Jr

Freddie was the ideal choice to play the dashingly bossy Fred, with his off-screen spouse.
In season eight of 24, he decided to give up on Hollywood entirely to become a stay-at-home father. In 2016, Freddie published a cookbook titled Back to the Kitchen. Additionally, he has voiced various characters in video games and films, including Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

Matthew Lillard

Matthew played Shaggy in the 2002 film and its 2004 sequel and continued into the area of animation voice acting as the franchise evolved.
The actor provided the voice for the part in several computer games, animated films, and TV programmes. But in 2019, he was surprised to learn that he had not been offered the role in the latest Scoob movie!
Matthew admitted that he only learned about it via Twitter and that “Hollywood never ceases to amaze me.”

Linda Cardellini

Before transitioning to more TV-based roles, Linda was recognised for her portrayal as the Scooby Squad’s genius Velma in the 2002 film and its 2004 sequel. Her extensive resume includes appearances on ER, Mad Men, Bloodline, Muppets Now, Hawkeye, and Dead to Me.
She returned to acting in movies including Daddy’s Home, Brokeback Mountain, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Capone and Avengers: Endgame.
She acted as a co-executive producer on Netflix’s Dead to Me in 2019.

Isla Fisher

Isla was cast to play Mary Jane, an attractive tourist and Shaggy’s love interest. The actress has a long list of film performances to her account, including Nocturnal Animals, Wedding Crashers, Confessions of a Shopaholic, Now You See Me, and I Heart Huckabees.
The former Home and Away star has additionally acted in television series, most notably as Rebel Ally on Arrested Development.
She tried her hand at producing for the first time in 2022 on Wolf Like Me.
