Seven youths recently took diksha to become sadhus. The diksha ceremony was held at Swaminarayan Mandir Vasna Sanstha in Gandhinagar.
It is common in Jainism and those following the Swaminarayan sect to renounce worldly pleasures, take diksha and become sadhus.
This event was no exception. The ceremony saw highly educated youth like CAs, MBAs and IT engineers taking diksha.
One of the youths, who took diksha, is the only son of his parents and his family has a net worth of Rs 100 crore. The family is from Mumbai.
Among the seven, three youths who took diksha are the only children of their families. Two of them are from wealthy families.
These youths completed a five-year intensive spiritual study at the SMVS trainee center. Here, they received unique training ranging from the question “Who am I?” to 15 days of silent meditation.
“My family is very wealthy. My father has a Rs. 1200 crore business. I was in the family business until I was 21-years-old. But I felt that the path of a sadhu is better than a luxurious life.” – Dasatva Bhagat was quoted in a section of the media.
