Congress MP Shashi Tharoor’s latest tweet has angered many social media users.
After he posted a picture of the women MPs on social media and added a text to it, people have gone berserk accusing him of insulting women. After their reaction, Tharoor had to apologise.
Tharoor posted a picture with women MPs and captioned it with “Who says the Lok Sabha isn’t an attractive place to work?” that went viral after . He shared a selfie with Supriya Sule, MP from Baramati, Preneet Kaur, MP from Patiala, Thamizaki Thangapandian, MP from South Chennai, Mimi Chakraborty, MP from Jadavpur, Nusrat Jahan from Basirhat and S. Karur.
Many found the words used by Tharoor as not respectable for women for which they criticised him harshly. While some called Tharoor’s tweet “sexist” and accused him of insulting women. Tharoor then tweeted an apology, saying that he only intended to joke and that he was sorry if some people got offended.
