Despite stringent animal protection laws, canines remain under perpetual threat.
In a horrific incident in Bhopal, employees at a dog training centre ruthlessly killed a canine by hanging it from an iron grill gate using a leash and ropes.
Employees at the centre deleted the CCTV footage of the episode to conceal the crime, according to a news website.
Dog owner Nihil Jaiswal, a liquor businessman, reported the matter to the Misrod police station, the website, citing a report by a national daily, claimed.
The police, however, seized the CCTV DVR and with the assistance of the cyber cell and recovered the footage which went viral on social media.
A case was registered against three people, including the operator and employees of the training centre. One of them is a woman.
The report claimed that Jaiswal sent his dog to the training centre in May. Ravi Kushwaha, the centre’s director, quoted a fee of Rs 13,000 per month. The training was supposed to conclude in September.
On October 9, Jaiswal received a call from Kushwaha, saying the dog was unwell and was given Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) at the centre. He informed the dog died.
Sensing that something was not right, Jaiswal registered a complaint.
Later, video evidence revealed that Kushwaha and his associates Tarun Das and Neha killed the dog by hanging it by its leash on a boundary wall gate on October 9 at around 1:30 pm.
Life was sucked out of the dog after 10 minutes of torture.
