| Updated: June 20, 2022 10:49

On Sunday, the Special Cell of Delhi police detained three men from Baroi village on the outskirts of Mundra town in Kutch in connection with an MCOCA case filed in Delhi last year against gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and members of his gang. Punjab police arrested Bishnoi for allegedly plotting the murder of singer-politician Sidhu Moosewala.

The Delhi police team picked up Kashish alias Kuldeep, Ashok alias Iliyas alias Fauji, and Keshavkumar from Baroi village on Sunday, according to Kutch (west) police. “They were wanted in connection with a case filed in Delhi against Lawrence Bishnoi and others on March 30, 2021,” said Hardeek Trivedi, Mundra police inspector.

According to police, while Fauji is from Punjab, the other two are from Haryana. “They came to Mundra about a week ago looking for work and had rented a room in Baroi,” Trivedi said, adding that the three men were in their 20s.

According to police, the trio was charged under sections 3 (organised crimes) and 4 of the MCOCA (Maharashtra Control of Organised Crimes Act, 1999). (possessing unaccountable wealth on behalf of member of organised crime syndicate).

“According to the FIR (first information report) in this case, Lawrence Bishnoi alias Balkaran Barar, son of Azad Singh, a resident of Fazilka block in Punjab, and others are named as accused,” the inspector added.
