Due to her deteriorating health condition, Congress President Sonia Gandhi will have to travel abroad for medical treatment. According to the party, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will accompany her. However, the party has not revealed the specific date of travel or the place of treatment.
Rahul Gandhi will address the Congress ‘Mehangai Par Halla Bol’ rally in the national capital on September 4, 2022. Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh said, “Congress President Sonia Gandhi would travel abroad for medical check-ups. She would also visit her ailing mother before she returns to New Delhi.”
“Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Vadra will travel with the Congress President. Moreover, Rahul Gandhi will address the Congress rally named ‘Mehangai Par Halla Bol’ in New Delhi on September 4, 2022,” Ramesh added. However, the Gandhis’ abroad travel for Congress President’s treatment clashes with the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ from Kanyakumari to Kashmir starting September 7. It also comes ahead of the party presidential election expected to be in next week.
Sonia Gandhi tested positive for COVID-19 for the second time on August 13. However, the second time has severely affected her health. Earlier, she tested positive in June and was admitted to the emergency department of Ganga Ram Hospital in New Delhi. According to the reports, the senior leader also has a history of chest infections and asthma.
