In a heart-warming incident that took place on Thursday morning, police personnel from the State Reserved Police Force jumped into the Narmada canal to save a drowning young man. The incident took place at the Narmada canal between Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad. Praveenbhai’s heroic act is a symbol of humanity and bravery.
When Assistant Police Constable in SRPF, Praveenbhai Devshibhai Bharwad, was returning from his duty from Adalaj to Chandkheda, he saw a large crowd gathered near the Adalaj canal. On inquiring, he found that someone had fallen into the stream.
However, no one dared to save the young fellow drowning in the canal. But SRPF Jawan Praveenbhai Bharwad jumped into the canal without giving his action a second thought. With the help of a rope, Praveenbhai pulled him out alive and unharmed as risked his own life. Later, the bystanders also helped.
Police Inspector DB Vala told Vibes of India, “Currently, the person is admitted to the SMS hospital for further treatment. However, he has not filed any complaint in association with the incident. If the person gives any other information, police will take immediate action. But as of now, the person is under treatment.”
