Surat Diamond Firm Unveils Masterpiece to Celebrate Trump’s Second Term

| Updated: January 21, 2025 12:16

A Surat-based diamond company, acclaimed for ground-breaking craftsmanship, unveiled a masterpiece carved from a 4.5-carat lab-grown diamond. The product, depicting US President Donald Trump, was created to celebrate his second term in office. The intricate work underscores the company’s commitment to wedding contemporary technology with art. The final product is valued at approximately Rs 8,50,000.

In a similar gesture two years ago, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi famously presented Jill Biden, the wife of former President Joe Biden, with a 7.5-carat laboratory-grown diamond. This environmentally friendly diamond, created by the same Surat company, reflected the brand’s commitment to sustainability.

According to reports, the firm took three months to carve the product, reflecting the workmen’s careful attention to detail. “It was made with utmost precision. It will be given to Mr Trump as a present,” Smith Patel, one of the owners of the firm, was quoted as saying.

This fusion of luxury, creativity, and sustainability ushers in a new era in diamonds and demonstrates how lab-grown stones may be manufactured in an ethical and beautiful way.

“We took three months to prepare this diamond, which includes growing, cutting and polishing. Our experts tried to make sure the carving was a replica of Mr Trump’s face. This is an important symbol of ties between India and the US. We want to tell Mr Trump that the creativity and our efforts to produce lab-grown diamonds will continue,” Patel added.

Surat’s diamond-cutting and polishing industry is well-known worldwide. The Indian government has decided to extensively promote laboratory-grown diamonds to boost the diamond industry because of the huge demand for these stones. The government plans to strengthen the nation’s diamond sector and increase its competitiveness in the global market.
