Prime Minister Narendra Modi offered his guidance to Surat Mayor Hemali Boghawala ahead of her visit to the Biennial Singapore Smart Cities Workshop & World Cities Summit 2022 at the financial capital of Asia.
The World Cities Summit 2022, from July 31 to August 4, has invited Boghawala to attend an event on August 2. According to the sources, there will be 4,000 representatives from 500 different cities around the globe.
The event will have discussions on the challenges that cities face. It will also entail brainstorming sessions on ‘How To Make Cities More Liveable?’ The organising committee has also invited various officers, functionaries, and entrepreneurs.
Surat Mayor will represent Surat in Gujarat, India. Furthermore, many experts, technologists, city officials and functionaries will narrate their experiences and opinions on the program.
In 2021, Hemali Bhogawala, a three-time winner from Ward 11, became the 35th Mayor of Surat. She has been with the Bharatiya Janata Party for over two decades now. In his years of public service, she has also served as the director of GSRTC.
Furthermore, the 46-year-old Hemali Boghawala belongs to the Surti Modh Vanik Community. On July 27, she sought guidance from Prime Minister Narendra Modi as she prepares to participate in the World Cities Summit.
