Within nine days of the crime, Surat police filed a chargesheet in the triple murder at Kosad on Tuesday. The charge sheet was filed based on the investigation carried out by the Special Investigation Team(SIT).
The police filed separate chargesheets in juvenile and regular courts because one of the accused is a 17-year-old minor, while the other two accused, Ashish Raut (19) and Ranknidhi Rakesh Dakua (42) will face trial in regular court. Each chargesheet is 600 pages long, and the police submitted documents related to 100 witnesses and evidence.
Harshad Mehta, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Zone V, led the SIT, which included assistant commissioner of police, crime branch, B P Rojia, police inspectors from crime branch, L D Vagadiya, N B Barot, and Amroli police inspector P P Brahmbhatt. “Police have arrested everyone involved in the murder, including the minor. “The charges against the minor will be decided by the court for juvenile accused,” said a police officer.
On December 25, the incident took place where Kalpesh Dholakiya (35), his father Dhanji (61) and his maternal uncle Ghanshya, Rajodiya (51) were killed by the accused. The minor had played a key role and he stabbed all the deceased using a combat knife. The triple murder was carried out within three minutes.
