A married woman in Surat took her life by setting herself on fire. She succumbed to burn injuries after battling for life in a hospital for eight days.
Her family has alleged that the woman, a resident of Pasodara in Kamaraj, sprayed kerosene on herself as she was fed up with abusive calls from a stranger.
While undergoing treatment, Parineeta who was married for two and a half years alleged that a young man, Jaideep Sarvaiya had been making phone calls to her and insisting on talking to her.
Her family alleged that the incident took place on February 12. They were away to work when they received a call from the neighbors that their house was on fire.
Police is investigating the case.
