| Updated: January 5, 2024 10:38

A diamond company in Surat, known as B Mahesh Diamond Company, which is based in the Katargam area of the city, has declared a holiday for its workers on January 22nd. This day coincides with the consecration ceremony of Lord Ram at the Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir in Ayodhya.

In addition to the holiday, the company has also announced that it will pay double wages to its employees for their work on January 21st. Babubhai Gujarati, the owner of the company, expressed his joy and the reasoning behind this generous initiative.

“As the consecration of Bhagwan Ram is happening, I decided to pay double for the work done so that workers can also celebrate. Who would not be happy with the celebration of Ram, which is happening after a wait of over 500 years? My whole family is very happy; my father was a huge Ram bhakt, so am I. I pray to him that none of my workers should be unhappy,” he said.

He further added that the company employs around 300 workers, all of whom will receive double the value of their work done on the specified day.
