A 17-year-old minor was gang-raped in a Mercedes car in the state of Telangana, Hyderabad. New and shocking developments in the case are in the news after 5 days of silence.
The cops have made two arrests and as per the allegations, the 5 accused, 3 of them minors; all belong from high political backgrounds. Currently, the latest revelation is the possible involvement of AIMIM MLA’s son in the matter and the BJP demanding an arrest for him.
As per Joel Davis from Hyderabad west zone deputy commissioner of police, alleged by Telangana BJP, the name of AIMIM MLA’s son’s name was not in the victim’s statement as of now.
“The investigation will continue and if the victim gives any further details as and when she is in a position to do so, we will investigate accordingly. We will not spare anyone however high and mighty they are,” the DCP reiterated.
The rape took place on May 28 at 5:30 PM after they were returning in the Mercedes car from a freshers’ party without any “influential substances” like alcohol and smoking. After traveling for a while in Mercedes, the victims and accused shifted into a Toyota Innova car.
The victim was brutally raped by five of them near an isolated place in the Jubilee Hills area in the Toyota car.
The case was reported 3 days later after the rape as the victim was in shock, . “..On June 1, as per SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) our senior women police officers counseled the victim and gained her confidence when she narrated the entire sequence,” Joel Davis explained.
Sections 354 (IPC), and 323 (IPC) apart from the POSCO act were included as per the statement by the victim. Joel Davis had started the investigation and identified the five accused from the one name provided by the victim.
Tajuddin Malik, 18, and Umair Khan, 18 have been arrested by the cops and three are juveniles in conflict with the law. One juvenile will be produced in the court tomorrow while special cops search for others.
