The immigration fraud: Canada dream of 15 Gujaratis faked in Delhi and Kolkata

Gandhinagar police rescued 15 people who were lured and kidnapped with the offer to send them abroad. The dream of migration tempts many to choose illegal ways and ends with losses. Four accused, including Ahmedabad agent Rajesh Patel, is arrested by the police.

A total of Rs 3.574 crore was extorted from the people with the false promise to migrate them abroad.

Despite spending crores of rupees, instead of travelling to Canada, 15 people went to Delhi and Kolkata to take hostage. Then the accused forcibly made a video of them stating that they have reached Canada. But based on suspicion, the relatives expressed their concern to the Chief Minister. From the CM’s office, the issue was informed to the Gandhinagar police.

Then, the Gandhinagar Police along with the Delhi and Kolkata police has released 15 hostages held hostage in Delhi and Kolkata for 3 months.

Apart from Rajesh Patel, Sushil Roy, Santosh Roy and Kamal Singhania are also involved in the fraud case. Initial investigation revealed that agent Rajesh Patel used to send people to Kolkata and Delhi. Where Sushil Roy, Santosh Roy and Kamal Scindia used to take a hostage and treat them inhumanly.

Police have started further investigation in the case and are looking for other absconding accused.
