The Local Crime Branch (LCB) of Gir Somnath district police have apprehended three individuals accused of operating a fraudulent scheme. The racket involved issuing Aadhar cards without the necessary proofs and evidences, even to foreign nationals including those from Bangladesh.
The LCB police conducted a raid on Saturday at the Darbari Aadhar shop located opposite the bus station in Una. The individuals arrested in the operation have been identified as Aslam Ismail Sheikh, Shabbir Sharif Sumra, and Javed alias Bhuro Mansuri. The police seized a computer and various documents from the shop during the raid.
According to the police complaint, the accused allegedly collected Rs. 1200 from individuals and issued Aadhar cards without any required proof. It is estimated that these racketeers have issued thousands of Aadhar cards through this illicit operation. Following their arrest, a local court has remanded the accused to four days of police custody for further investigation.
