Traders of the Bhavnagar fruit market shut shop and protested against the city’s traffic police for alleged harassment with a rally on Friday, marching and shouting slogans to file a complaint to the SP office.
Traders complained that traffic cops in the Gangajalia Lake have been handing out ‘unnecessary’ regularly, resulting in harassment. The merchants alleged that not only do traffic cops regularly penalise those who parked vehicles in a haphazard manner on the road, but vehicles parked in the city area while unloading goods were also randomly fined.
