One person was killed and three others were injured when a speeding truck collided with a car in Palanpur, Banaskantha on Saturday night.
According to police, a truck coming from Rajasthan lost control near RTO Circle in Palanpur, Banaskantha, collided with two cars and rammed into Hotel Savera around 8.45 pm.
Manu Thakor, a resident of Shahibaug in Ahmedabad, who was traveling in a Maruti Eco van, was killed in a collision with a truck, while Chandrikaben Sheikh, Chandresh Agarwal and Feroz Ansari were injured. A truck coming from Abu Road in Rajasthan lost control and collided head-on with a Maruti Eco van, which was carrying four people, including the driver.
The three injured were shifted to Palanpur Civil Hospital immediately while Manu Thakor died on the spot. The front of the hotel was severely damaged in the accident. A case was filed under IPC 304A for death due to negligence and 279 for reckless driving against the accused driver.
