Someone hacked the Gujarat Police Twitter account and renamed it Elon Musk, the Tesla CEO. On Monday, Gujarat Home Minister Harsh Sanghavi took to Twitter and made everyone aware of the hacking of the Gujarat Police Twitter account. He requested everyone not to respond to any messages or shared information until a further update.
The hackers changed the name of the Gujarat Police Twitter account handle to Elon Musk. Moreover, they changed the account display picture to a spaceship. However, the IT Department restored the account after a while.
In January 2022, hacker groups targeted the handles of the Indian Council of World Affairs (ICWA), the Indian Medical Association (IMA), and Mann Deshi Mahila Bank (Micro-finance bank).
In December, someone pithily hacked PM Modi’s Twitter account. A tweet promoting cryptocurrency circulated via the Twitter handle and vanished later. However, the IT Department restored it.
A week ago, the Twitter and YouTube accounts of the British Army also became a victim of hacking. The striking similarity between the online invasions of PM Modi and the British Army was the promotion of Crypto posts. Another crypto-related hacking controversy was RadioShack, the 1921 retailer business.
