Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who is contesting for a Lok Sabha seat from the Gandhinagar constituency in his home state of Gujarat, is set to launch his election campaign on April 18.

Shah is expected to arrive in Gujarat on April 17 and will hold a roadshow on April 18. The state of Gujarat is slated to go to polls in the third phase of the general election, with the last date for filing nominations being April 19. Shah is also scheduled to file his nomination on the same day.

The roadshow on April 18 is planned to be conducted in two phases. The route will commence from Sanand and traverse through Vejalpur, Naranpura, Ghatlodiya, Sabarmati, Gandhinagar North and Kalol. The BJP has strategized to cover 4 km in every assembly seat via the roadshow. Gujarat’s Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel is also expected to participate in the event.

On April 19, Shah is scheduled to visit the Gandhinagar Collectorate to file his nomination papers, marking a significant step in his election campaign.
