Union Home Minister Amit Shah is visiting Gujarat today, just ahead of the plans of prime minister Narendra Modi’s visit scheduled on 29-30 September
Amit Shah will visit Ahmedabad, Amreli and Somnath to attend several programmes. It is pertinent to note that Gujarat is a poll-bound state with a high political stake for all parties concerned.
During this visit today, the Union Home Minister is scheduled to visit Amreli and Somnath. He will visit the Somnath temple of which he is a trustee too along with the prime minister.
Later, he will attend the annual meeting of the Co-operative Convention at Amreli.
The Somnath programme includes his visiting the temple to offer prayers at the first of 12 holiest “shivalinga”s in the Hindu religion, at three pm, launching the new website of Somnath and unveiling of a 6 feet tall Hanuman idol.

At Ahmedabad, a two-day conclave is organized by the Department of Science and Technology at Science City, Ahmedabad. The conclave, being held for the first time with STI Vision 2047, focuses on new technologies and “ease of life” relevant to various states/UTs with the tag line of “Anusandhan Se Samathan”. Amit Shah will attend the closing ceremony of this conclave on September 11.
