In a significant development in the Vadodara Harni boat incident, four more suspects have been apprehended. The Vadodara police have arrested contract workers Nilesh Jain, Jatin Doshi, Neha Doshi, and Tejal Doshi. Jain, who was managing the lake zone and used to take account from the employees daily, was given the contract about 10 months ago. The other three suspects, Jatin Doshi, Neha Doshi, and Tejal Doshi, were also partners in the Kotiya project.
The nine suspects arrested in the Harni Lake boat accident are currently in remand. During the interrogation, the suspects revealed that the main suspect, Paresh Shah and his son, Vatsal Shah, were managing the lake zone. In addition, in the year 2023, the entire management of the lake zone was given to Nilesh Jain in a tripartite manner, excluding the knowledge of other partners.
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed by the Vadodara City Police Commissioner is conducting intensive interrogation of all the suspects arrested. More evidence is being gathered regarding the boat accident. The police are trying to gather information by trying various tactics as the suspects are not providing necessary information.
On January 18, a tragic boat accident at Harni Lake Zone in Vadodara claimed the lives of 12 innocent children and two teachers. A complaint was lodged at Harni Police Station against 19 people who were negligent and committed a crime during boating. So far, 13 suspects have been arrested, including the main suspect Paresh Shah and Gopal Shah. However, six suspects are still at large.
The family of the main suspect Paresh Shah, including his son Vatsal Shah, his wife Nutan Shah, and daughter Vaishakhi Shah, are still on the run. The police teams are searching for all the suspects.
Earlier, the main suspect Paresh Shah and Gopal Shah were produced in Vadodara court, and the police had demanded 10 days remand. However, the court had approved 9 days remand for both the suspects. After that, the police are trying to connect all the links of the incident in the interrogation of the suspects. The police had conducted a search operation on the office and business places of Paresh Shah and Gopal Shah. The police will now also search their homes. In addition, all the witnesses of the incident are also being asked to give statements.
