Currently, our country has been torn between communal hatred and differences, at a time like this, a silver lining of secularism has come about from the Valsad district of Gujarat where a 14-years-old Muslim student has topped the all-India quiz competition on Bhagavad Gita.
This quiz was held by Editor mobile application last week as part of Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav – Celebration of 75 years of Independence. The girl, Khushbu Khan, is a class 7 student who studies at Uttar Buniyadi Girls School (Gujarati medium) in Umargam town in the Valsad district.
School Principal, Maltiben Ahire while praising Khushbu said, “Around 20 students from our school participated in the online quiz competition of Bhagavad Gita, Khushbu gave correct answers of around 428 questions and topped in the country.”
“We have also got an intimation from the state education department that Education Minister Jitu Vaghani will felicitate her in a program soon,” she further added.
While talking about her connection to the Bhagavad Gita, Khushbu Khan said, “I think that my memory power is good compared to other students. I know that Bhagavad Gita is a holy book of Hindus, but I learned many things related to humanity while reading it.”
Khushbu aims to become a doctor in future and currently lives with her father, mother and two siblings at a rented 1BHK house. “I am proud of my daughter… She likes to know more about history and science,” said Khushbu’s father Mehbub Khan, who works at a private factory in Umargam GIDC.
The state BJP president C R Paatil felicitated Khusbu in presence of Gujarat state BJP minority wing president Dr Mohsin Lokhandwala accompanied by Valsad BJP minority president Farukbhai Penwala, In Surat on Thursday, February 10, 2022.
Penwala said, “The girl’s family is poor and we have planned to help them financially for her higher education. Through donors, we are planning to make a fixed deposit in her name.”
