Viral Video: Cops In Plain Clothes Nab Gangsters

| Updated: June 28, 2022 16:51

On Tuesday morning, a video of more than a dozen young men beating on a moving Maruti Eeco car in Bardoli, Surat went viral on social media. However, it soon became clear that these men were not ordinary citizens but rather Surat City Crime Branch police officials who were pursuing a group of “chikhligar” who were involved in a robbery and other illicit activities. Three of the gang members were ultimately captured.

The Surat Crime Branch detectives kept vigil at Mojana Gate outside of Bardoli town in the Surat district on Tuesday early in the morning in response to a tip-off. The officers sought to halt Maruti Eeco car as it approached at high speed while they were concealed behind plainclothes uniforms and wooden sticks.

The motorist continued driving without stopping after recognising the authorities. The police had put a JCB machine in the centre of the because they had anticipated the action. The officers pounded the automobile when it slowed down, breaking the window panes and harming the body of the car. It was seen that the “youths” were yelling at the car’s occupants.

The shocked onlookers who had gathered there took pictures and videos of the incident with their smartphones. The police blocked traffic on both sides of the road to stop the accused from escaping.

Sources say that as of this afternoon, the Crime Branch has not yet released the identities of those who have been arrested.
