The US Embassy in India on Sunday said that there can be some significant delays in the waiting period for visa appointments for some nonimmigrant visa categories as it is building back from the interruptions, caused due to COVID-19.
“Facilitating legitimate travel to support our strong and growing bilateral ties is our top priority. As we build back from COVID-19 related interruptions, we expect significant appointment wait times for some nonimmigrant visa categories at our Embassy and Consulates,” read the US Embassy’s notification.
Under its new international air travel policy, the United States said that it will allow approximately three million visa holders to travel the country from India with proof of vaccination from November 8.
Thus, from November 8, foreign national air travelers going to the United States will be required to be fully vaccinated and produce proof of their vaccination status before boarding a flight to the US.
