Asaduddin Owaisi, the leader of the AIMIM, criticised the BJP and the RSS on Saturday for “creating new drama” in the context of the continuing controversy over surveys of madrasas and their demolition. Owaisi criticised the “double standard” of RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat by highlighting his visit to a Delhi madrasa.
“BJP-RSS is currently performing a fresh drama. Owaisi stated, “RSS head Mohan Bhagwat visited a madrasa in Delhi, whereas madrasas are being razed in Assam and a survey is being conducted in Uttar Pradesh.”
His comments came after Mohan Bhagwat, the chief of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), visited the Azad Market Madrasa Tajweedul Quran in Old Delhi on September 22.
The AIMIM leader also criticised the BJP, stating, “BJP has nothing to present. They are only interested in Hindus and Muslims fighting with each other.” Owaisi made his views during a public meeting in Ahmedabad.
Mahmudul Hasan, director of the madrasa said, “The RSS chairman stayed inside the madrasa for almost an hour and met the teacher and the students.” The RSS chief addressed the children regarding the Madrasa’s curriculum. Bhagwat informed the youngsters that they are the nation’s future and should therefore prioritise their studies and work for the country.
Owaisi said ” “Can he see (Gujarat riot victim) Bilkis Bano and assure her he will guarantee that she receives justice? People who raped her and killed numerous others were released by the Gujarat BJP administration. Will Bhagwat go and meet her? He will not do so, “Owaisi remarked.
Last month, the RSS chief met with Imam Umair Ahmed Ilyasi, the chairman of All India Imam Sangathan, as part of an effort to enhance ongoing interaction with the Muslim community. T opics such as the Hijab dispute, Gyanvapi, and the maintenance of religious peace and harmony were discussed at the conference.
In addition to Bhagwat, the conference was attended by prominent RSS members Krishna Gopal, Indresh Kumar, Ramlal, and Karish Kumar.
AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi also announced his party’s candidates for three upcoming Gujarat Assembly elections. Sabir Kabliwala, head of the state chapter of the All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen, will contest from Jamalpur-Khadia in Ahmedaad. Kaushika Parmar, the party’s Dalit candidate, will be running for the Danilimda (SC) seat in Ahmedabad, while Wasim Qureshi will run for the Surat-East seat.
