Rishita Patel and her lover, Sanjay Patel carefully devised a plan to kill Rishita’s husband, Ghanshyam Patel, but both of them were caught in their misadventure nevertheless.
Rishita claimed that Ghanshyam had forced himself upon her daughter because of which she had hit him with a pestle and her daughter had used a cutter to slice his throat. But, the police did not entirely buy this version of the story, as they did not think the two women alone could have taken Ghanshyam’s life. Upon further research, they found Rishita to be in constant contact with Sanjay Patel, and his call details report showed that he had been near Kolavda village. The motive for this murder was the huge chunk of land Ghanshyam owned and whose price had recently spiked.
Coming on to the relation between Rishita and Sanjay, Rishita had separated from her husband one and a half years ago . She lived near Sanjay Patel’s milk shop in Motera. He used to help her pay the rent.
Soon, the frequent visits lead to a budding romance between the two.
They sent Rishita’s daughter to stay with Ghanshyam at Kolavda about a month ago.
A week prior to the murder, Rishita too, went to live with her husband. There, she gave him sleeping pills. She called Sanjay and told him to reach Kolavda when she called. They both conspired to plan a fake motive that Ghanshyam had molested Rishita’s daughter.
With all the planning done, they finally murdered Ghanshyam in his sleep with a pestle and cutter. They had tied his hand and feet, and his mouth was covered to ensure he could not seek help in any form. Sanjay’s wife Sonal has also been said to help in this mission. The couple, as of now, are under questioning.
