Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and his wife, Dhanashree Verma. are now divorced. The news, which had been circulating for months on social media, was confirmed after both parties appeared at the Bandra Family Court for their final hearing on Thursday.
For months, cryptic posts shared by both Chahal and Dhanashree hinted at their troubled relationship, but neither spoke directly on the matter. However, reports confirm that the couple had been living separately for the past 18 months due to “compatibility issues.”
According to a media report, the judge overseeing the case encouraged the couple to attend counselling, which lasted for approximately 45 minutes.
During the counselling session, it was revealed that both parties had reached a mutual decision to part ways. The divorce was officially granted around 4:30 pm.
Ahead of the final hearing, Chahal shared a post on social media expressing his gratitude to God. He stated, “God has protected me more times than I can count. So I can only imagine the times I’ve been rescued that I don’t even know about. Thank you, God, for always being there, even when I don’t know it. Amen.”
Meanwhile, Dhanashree shared a heartfelt message about faith and overcoming struggles, saying, “From stressed to blessed. Isn’t it amazing how God can turn our worries and trials into blessings? If you’re stressing about something today, know that you have a choice. You can either keep worrying or you can surrender it all to God and choose to pray about everything. There is power in having faith that God can work all things together for your good.”
While neither directly referenced the divorce, the essence of their messages indicated their decision to move on from the relationship.
