Eleven officers and personnel of Gujarat Police were honoured with Police Medals on the occasion of Republic Day 2025, recognising their distinguished and meritorious contributions to law enforcement, according to an official statement issued by the police.
Two officers were conferred with the President’s Medal for Distinguished Service (PSM). Brajesh Kumar Jha, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) and Commissioner of Police (CP) for Rajkot City, and Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) Digvijaysinh Patubha Chudasama, posted at the Police Bhavan, received the prestigious award for their leadership and significant contributions to public safety and operational excellence.
Nine officers and personnel were awarded the Medal for Meritorious Service (MSM) for their exceptional efforts in various roles.

Nilesh Jajadia, Police Superintendent of Junagadh Division, and Charag Kordiya, Police Superintendent of the Border Division in Kutch, were recognised for managing complex security challenges in their respective regions.
Ashok Kumar Ramabhai Pandor, DySP of Mehsana, and Devadas Bhikabhai Barad, DySP of Narmada, were honoured for addressing law enforcement challenges in remote areas. Sub-Inspector Babu Patel of the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) in Ahmedabad received the award for his critical role in countering security threats to the state.
Other recipients included Hiren Kumar Balram Varma, Assistant Sub-Inspector at Ahmedabad Police Headquarters, and Hemant Kumar Mahesh Kumar Modi, Constable with Ahmedabad City Police, for their unwavering commitment to public safety. Mukesh Kumar Anandprakash Negi, AIO at the Police Commissioner’s Office in Gandhinagar, was recognised for his diligent administrative efforts. Surendrasinh Dalipsinh Yadav, Constable at the Police Headquarters in Gandhinagar, was also commended for his exemplary service in maintaining law and order.
The medals were presented during a formal ceremony, where Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel personally conferred the honours.
Speaking at the event, the Chief Minister praised the dedication and commitment of Gujarat Police in ensuring public safety and upholding law and order across the state.
Director General of Police (DGP) Vikas Sahay congratulated the recipients on social media, stating, “On behalf of the entire Gujarat Police parivar (family), I heartily congratulate all officers for this very prestigious award. Best wishes to all their family members also. Jai Hind.”
