A 16-year-old boy has been detained from the neighbouring Thane district by the Mumbai police for calling the police control room and allegedly threatening to kill Bollywood actor Salman Khan, as per the official report on Tuesday.
On Monday, Mumbai Police’s main control room received a phone call.
An official said, The police then began an investigation with technical help and tracked the number. It was found out that a phone call was made to Shahapur in Thane district, located 70 km from Mumbai.
After reaching Shahapur, the police team found that a 16-year-old boy, who is from Rajasthan, had called the police control room.
The Rajasthani boy will be handed over to the Azad Maidan Police in Mumbai for further legal proceedings. He said an investigation was underway to determine the boy’s intention for issuing the threat to the 57-year-old actor.
Last month, the Mumbai police increased Salman Khan’s security with Y-plus category after the actor received a threatening e-mail and the police had to file an FIR against gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar.
