As many as 75 including doctors and medical students test positive for covid 19 on Sunday at Nalanda Medical College and Hospital (NMCH) in Patna. Overall, Patna on Sunday reported 352 cases to take the active case load up to 1,074, as per the state health officials.
The medical official at NMCH informed that as many as 87 medicos and doctors have tested positive. Out of a total of 194 RT PCR tests taken, 12 tested positive on Saturday and 75 tested positive on Sunday. Five of the 87 doctors are hospitalised and the rest are under home isolation.
Two assistant professors at AIIMS-Patna tested positive for covid-19 and one of them has a travel history to Andaman and Nicobar islands, accoding to an official. Many doctors tested positive after attending the two day 96th National Annual Conference of the Indian Medical Association held at Patna on 27th December and 28th December. Many Political leaders had attended this event as well including, Nitish Kumar, Vijay Kumar Sinha and Vijay Kumar Choudhary, the official further added.
