Come June 26 and Gujarat chief minister will inaugurate Phase II of the Dinosaur Park at Raiyoli, Balasinor, in Mahisagar district. The second phase has been built at a cost of Rs 16.50 crore. The park promises to be an infotainment center founded on research. Backed by technical gizmos, the new phase is all set to make a trip down dino lane!

Among other highlights are a 5D Theatre to live the experience, a digital forest, a 360° virtual reality show, am experiment lab, mood lights and a 3D project mapping section. A tourist information center has also been built by the Gujarat Tourism.

According to government officials, Raiyoli is globally known to be the third largest fossil site and the second largest dinosaur hatchery from where about 10,000 dinosaur eggs have been found.

While inaugurating the Phase I museum in 2019, the state government had decided to allocate a Rs 10 crore fund to promote the site internationally. Phase 1 has as many as 50 sculptures of dinosaurs, including a life-size one of Rajasaurus Narmadensis that was found in Gujarat. Together, Phase 1 and Phase II have a lot to offer for those who have a keen interest in the ancient reptile with detailed information on its origin to extinction. The entire infrastructure has been created by the Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Ltd.
