Khoya Paya Officers The Real Heroes As They Locate 60 Missing Children

| Updated: January 6, 2023 15:49

Traditionally, Navaratri is celebrated with much fervour in Gujarat. But the last week of December, the time for the much-awaited Kankaria Carnival, also gives Gujarat a buzz. This year, it was celebrated from December 25 to 31 in Maninagar.

The festival gave Gujarat a precious gift by uniting 60 missing children with their families.

These children went missing during the Kankaria Carnival. Panic set in as their families rushed to the police for help even as the children screamed and wailed. In certain cases, the police secured the children and made public announcements.

Led by Zone-6 DCP Ashok Munia and ACP Milap Patel, Khoya Paya’s 20-member team worked tirelessly to locate the children.  Parents were understandably overwhelmed with emotions when the police reunited them with their little ones. They couldn’t thank the police enough.

True to the name, the Khoya Paya team was created to ensure that lost people are reunited with their families immediately.  It was entrusted with the task of locating vulnerable children, who often disappear during the melee of crowds during festival time.

The police are on their toes with the necessary arrangements during the Kankaria Carnival, often patrolling the festival venues late into the night. As a result, incidents of mobile theft and other goods have reduced considerably.

Officials of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation have also praised the police bandobast.
