Delhi To Jaipur In 2 Hours By January End, Courtesy Of Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, Says Gadkari

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, the Sohna-Dausa section of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway would open by the end of January. According to the Union minister, the inauguration of the section would significantly cut the distance between the national capital and Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan, to only two hours.

Gadkari said at an event in New Delhi, “”By the end of this month, Delhi to Jaipur drive will take only two hours.”

The distance between Delhi and Jaipur is 270 kilometres. The first section of the famous Delhi-Mumbai Expressway runs from Sohna in Haryana to Dausa in Rajasthan. The nearly 1,390 km motorway will make travel from the national capital to the economic capital smooth and significantly cut the time from the current 24 hours to just 12 hours. When completed, it will be India’s longest highway.

The first phase of the “Bharatmala Pariyojana” involves the construction of a road ecosystem consisting of tunnels, bridges, elevated corridors, flyovers, overpasses, interchanges, bypasses, ring roads, and so on. The Delhi-Mumbai Expressway is expected to be completed in March 2023. The Delhi-Mumbai Expressway would be an eight-lane highway connecting Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Gujarat. It will be expandable to 12 lanes in the future.

The Delhi-Vadodara-Mumbai Expressway has already reached the Dausa area of Rajasthan, 65 kilometres from Jaipur. When the road reaches Jaipur, the five- or more-hour journey from the national capital to the Pink City will be reduced to two hours. A 375-kilometer section of the road will run through Rajasthan, connecting seven districts to Delhi and Mumbai. Once operational, the route is expected to increase trade and tourism between the two cities while also saving a significant amount of time and money.
