Alfa Awards 2025: Celebrating Heroes Behind Change Across India

| Updated: November 20, 2025 11:25

Pioneers, achievers, and trailblazers from diverse fields were honoured at the third edition of the Alfa Awards held in Mumbai.

Initiated by Alfacommunications, the awards celebrated 29 individuals from areas including medicine, education, social work, and business, among others.

On Tuesday, Alfacommunications hosted the third edition of its award ceremony, aimed at recognizing talents excelling in various domains and contributing to the betterment of society.

Alfacommunications, established in 2002 by Dr. Rajendra Gawai, initially focused on medical and health activities and later expanded into cultural initiatives in 2013.

The event saw the presence of distinguished personalities such as film and TV actor Surendra Pal, Abhishek Karnani, president of The Free Press Journal, and Dr. Vivek Mendonsa, group director at Lawrence & Mayo.

The Awards honoured 29 individuals for their outstanding contributions in social work, community building, animal welfare, service to the underprivileged, medical science, sports, literature, empowering specially-abled individuals, and knowledge creation. Additionally, around 142 other individuals making exemplary contributions across various fields were also felicitated during the ceremony.

Abhishek Karnani, president of The Free Press Journal, lauded Dr. Gawai for taking the mission nationwide to ensure that more changemakers receive the recognition they deserve. He said, “The work of these individuals shows us that change does not only come from big institutions, but from people who care, people who act, and people who stay committed even when no one is watching. Their efforts make society better, and their stories remind us that kindness and service still guide the spirit of the country. These are the examples our youth need today. Highlighting such stories inspires many more to step forward and make a difference.”

Karon Shaiva, founder of idobro and a member of the jury, remarked, “The inspiration behind being part of this event is that it is not about big names or huge numbers but simply about good people and great work. The jury process was challenging, which is why we did not designate anyone as winner or runner-up. It was not about ranking; it was about celebrating good people doing great work.”

The ceremony was held at Ravindra Natya Mandir in Prabhadevi and was sponsored by Lawrence & Mayo, All Star Inc., Centayr, DY Patil University, Entod Pharmaceuticals, and Satyam Collection. The Free Press Journal and Navshakti collaborated as media partners, while idobro served as the knowledge partner for Alfa Awards 2025. Yellow Spider Events managed the event.
