Luxembourg And Finland Job Dream Costs Banaskantha Farmer Rs 3 Lakh In Visa Scam

| Updated: June 5, 2026 20:10

A farmer from Banaskantha district has alleged that he was cheated of Rs 3 lakh after being promised work permits and jobs in Luxembourg and Finland by a visa consultancy firm based in Ahmedabad. Following his complaint, Navrangpura police have registered a case against three office-bearers of the company on charges of cheating and criminal breach of trust.

The complainant, a resident of Deesa taluka in Banaskantha, told police that he came in contact with the consultancy firm through a friend who was also looking for employment opportunities abroad.

According to the complaint, in April 2024, the farmer visited the company’s office near Stadium Circle on CG Road in Ahmedabad. During the meeting, representatives of DAA Business Consultant Services Pvt Ltd allegedly assured him that they could arrange a work visa for Luxembourg within six months. The total cost for the process was stated to be Rs 6.5 lakh, and the company asked for an advance payment to begin the procedure.

Trusting their assurances, the farmer transferred Rs 50,000 to the company’s bank account. He also signed an agreement appointing the firm as his visa consultant and completed all the required documentation and formalities.

Several months later, the consultancy allegedly showed him a job offer letter from Luxembourg and informed him that additional processing and medical examination expenses would be required. Believing that his visa process was progressing, he paid another Rs 50,000 and underwent a medical check-up at a private hospital.

However, when the promised Luxembourg visa did not materialize, the company reportedly advised him to change his application from Luxembourg to Finland. The representatives allegedly assured him that a Finnish work permit could be obtained within 60 days and that no extra charges would be involved for the switch. The farmer was subsequently shown another overseas job offer letter.

The complaint further states that during meetings held at the company’s office in Thaltej, the firm’s representatives showed him temporary resident cards belonging to other clients and repeatedly assured him that his Finnish work permit was under process.

Convinced by these assurances, the farmer transferred additional amounts to the company. In August 2025, he paid around Rs 3 lakh in multiple instalments, believing that his visa approval was imminent.

Despite waiting for a long period, no visa or work permit was issued. When the farmer sought a refund, the consultancy allegedly entered into a settlement agreement and promised to return his money within a month.

Although the company eventually refunded Rs 1 lakh in two instalments, the remaining Rs 3 lakh was not returned. After repeated attempts to recover his money failed, the farmer approached the police.

Based on his complaint, Navrangpura police have registered a case against three office-bearers of the consultancy firm for alleged cheating and criminal breach of trust. An investigation into the matter is underway.
