Reliance is stepping into India’s ice cream market with the launch of Bombay Creamery, a new brand from Reliance Consumer Products Limited (RCPL), the FMCG arm of Reliance Industries Limited.
The company is positioning Bombay Creamery as an accessible premium dairy ice cream brand, combining real dairy ingredients with affordable pricing. Products will start at just ₹10 and will initially be available across Western India before the brand expands to other parts of the country.
Bombay Creamery to focus on real dairy ingredients
RCPL said the new brand has been built around a simple focus — using genuine dairy ingredients to offer consumers what it describes as an authentic ice cream experience.
The company said Bombay Creamery products are made with real dairy cream, reflecting its broader promise of delivering “Global Quality at Affordable Price.”
T Krishnakumar, Director of Reliance Consumer Products Limited, said the brand was developed around the idea that dairy-based ice cream should not require shortcuts.
According to Krishnakumar, the company is not simply making an entry into the category but intends to build a long-term presence in the ice cream market, while keeping genuine dairy ingredients and affordability at the centre of the brand.
Products available in multiple formats
Bombay Creamery will offer its ice cream in several formats to suit different consumer preferences. The range will include:
Cones
Cups
Tubs
Bars
Sticks
With prices starting at ₹10, RCPL aims to make the new brand accessible to a wide range of consumers while maintaining its premium positioning.
Reliance’s distribution network to support the launch
The new ice cream brand will be supported by RCPL’s existing national distribution infrastructure and retail scale.
The company also plans to use its understanding of consumer preferences to build Bombay Creamery as it expands in the category.
This gives the new brand access to Reliance’s wider retail and distribution capabilities as it seeks to establish itself in the competitive ice cream market.
Western India launch before national expansion
Bombay Creamery will initially be available in Western India.
RCPL plans to gradually increase the brand’s reach and eventually take it across the country as part of a pan-India rollout.
The launch marks RCPL’s first major entry into the ice cream category and signals the company’s intention to build a long-term presence in the market.
With a combination of real dairy cream, multiple product formats and prices starting at ₹10, Bombay Creamery is being positioned as a brand that aims to bring an accessible premium ice cream offering to Indian consumers.
