AAP’s Raghav Chadha to Kick His Political Streak as Party’s Co-Incharge In Gujarat’s Assembly Elections

|Gujarat | Updated: September 18, 2022 19:36

To ensure a remarkable victory in Gujarat’s assembly elections after their significant win in northern Punjab, the Aam Aadmi Party named MP Raghav Chadha as its co-incharge to amass maximum seats across the state.

Earlier, Sandeep Pathak, a Rajya Sabha Member has already been appointed as in-charge to handle AAP’s affairs in Gujarat for the upcoming assembly elections due to be held in December this year.

AAP is leaving no stone unturned to win the assembly elections in Gujarat.

Welcoming the decision taken by the Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal, the newly chosen co-incharge, Raghav Chadha wrote on his twitter handle- “I want to thank Arvind Kejriwal. He has given me a huge responsibility. I will come up to the expectations of the party no matter what. I will work hard to achieve the mandate. Gujarat seeks a change. Gujarat calls for quality-based education and better health services. Gujarat needs Kejriwal.”

During Punjab elections, Chadha led AAP as its co-architect. It is also said that because of Chadha’s core strategies, AAP was able to win elections in Punjab. The Aam Aadmi Party scored 92 out of 117 seats to win a formidable 79 percent majority in Punjab elections.

On Raghav Chadha’s demand, Bhagwant Mann was chosen for the post of CM and later AAP became the victorious party in Punjab. Raghav Chadha has shouldered big responsibilities both in Delhi and Punjab. He is well-known for his ardent politics and administration. The key question is- ‘Will AAP be able to repeat the same success in Gujarat’?

Born in Delhi on November 11, 1988, Chadha is currently 33 years old. He received his education from University of Delhi (DU) (2009) and then pursued his Chartered Accountancy (2011) from the Institute of Chartered Accountant of India. He is a qualified economist from ‘London School of Economics’. He has also worked as a CA in many accountancy firms including Deloitte, but left his job to join the political fervour.

At present, he is a member of Rajya Sabha from Punjab. Following his victory in Rajinder Nagar post February 2020 elections, he was appointed as the vice-chairman of the Delhi Jal Board (DJB). He is one of the confidant and actively engaged leaders in the Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party.

Disclosing his assets in his statement in 2019, he had mentioned that he possessed an amount of over INR 36 lakh in property. From 2020-2021, he received a basic salary amounting to INR 2, 44, 600.
