ACB Gujarat Continues Drive Against Corrupts, Already Nabbed 8 This Week

Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat Police this week has nabbed several government staffers in bribe cases.

Rohit Lakshman Purani, a clerk in the Prant office in Modasa, Aravalli district, has been arrested in a bribery case involving Rs. 500. In this case, the applicant sought and paid for crop protection licence renewal online.

In another case, ACB nabbed Kalsingh Pratapbhai Patel, an in-charge home guard commandant in Limkheda unit, in a Rs. 5,000 bribe case. The accused accepted a bribe of Rs. 5,000 to reinstate the applicant’s job as a home guard jawan.

Also, ACB nabbed Nilesh Gamit, an assessment department staffer of Surat Municipal Corporation who works in West Zone for a bribe of Rs. 8,000.

Earlier in this week, ACB nabbed Gemar Patel (53) a Talati Mantri of Antroli in Doljiwas gram panchayat of Talod taluka in Sabarkantha district for a bribe of Rs. 50,000. Talati had demanded Rs. one lakh bribe for Non-Agricultural permission of land of the applicant.

Also, ACB in another case this week nabbed Manoj Darji, a contractual peon working at the Mamlatdar office of Kalol in Gandhinagar district in a bribe case of Rs. 500. The accused had demanded money to issue a Vada Patrak for Varsai application.

ACB arrested Divyang Barot (57), a Senior Safety Officer of the Food and Drugs Control Department, and Jyotiben Kishorbhai Bhadarka (32), a Food safety officer, this week in a Rs. 60,000 bribe case. The accused demanded an annual hafta of Rs. 50,000 for a bakery factory licence.

Geetaben  Pandya, an Assistant Sub Inspector at Rajkot’s Malaviya Nagar Police Station, was arrested in a Rs. 10,000 bribe case for failing to lock up an accused.
