Nishant Vyas, the suspended principal from a city municipal school, who was accused of sexually harassing a student, was caught by the police on Saturday in Surat. Police had got information that Vyas had gone to meet someone near his house. Another victim of Vyas’s sexual harassment has come forward, and a new offense is being lodged against him.
Vyas was arrested on July 18, in Punagam police station under section 12 (sexual harrassment upon a child) of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Vyas was principal of Municipal School Board, Surat (MBBS) school number 300 in Punagram.
The complaint was filed by a school employee based on an inquiry that was conducted by a committee. He was accordingly transferred to a school in Adajan.
The complaint accuses Vyas of harassing a 14 year, class VIII student in his presence. The victim’s clothes were also removed and he is being harassed nude in the video which has now gone viral.
The FIR says that Vyas permitted the videography of the entire incident on his mobile phone as well. Other boys have been noticed making fun of the victim boy, says the FIR.
Vyas has been on the run since the FIR has been filed.
