Adani University has launched two advanced laboratories with Qualcomm Technologies and IIT Bombay to strengthen hands-on learning, research and industry collaboration in artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced engineering.
The new facilities comprise the Arduino Edge AI Lab powered by Qualcomm Technologies and the Engineering Exploration Program (EEP) Lab, established with e-Yantra, IIT Bombay. The facilities provide an industry-aligned environment for practical learning, research, prototyping and interdisciplinary collaboration.
The Arduino Edge AI Lab powered by Qualcomm Technologies gives students access to industry-grade edge computing platforms to design, test, optimise and deploy AI applications at the edge. The facility supports learning and research in Edge AI, Internet of Things (IoT), embedded systems, robotics, computer vision and intelligent devices, while giving students hands-on experience in tackling engineering challenges such as power optimisation, memory management, latency and thermal performance. It will also support faculty development, student projects, applied research and prototyping.
The EEP Lab, developed with e-Yantra, IIT Bombay, complements the AI Lab by providing practical training in electronics, embedded systems, programming, robotics and automation. Students will apply engineering fundamentals through experimentation, prototyping and project-based learning, translating classroom concepts into practical solutions.
The laboratories were inaugurated by Dr. Priti G. Adani, President, Adani University, in the presence of Mr. Rajen Vagadia, President, Qualcomm Technologies India. The inauguration underscores the University’s collaboration with industry to strengthen technology-led education.
The facilities are expected to support research and innovation across applications including smart IoT systems, industrial automation, robotics, computer vision, intelligent transportation systems, healthcare technologies, smart devices and next-generation connected systems.
Speaking on the occasion, Provost Prof. Dhaval Pujara said stronger collaboration between academia and industry is essential to preparing graduates for a technology-driven economy. He said exposure to contemporary technologies and real-world engineering challenges would help students build practical skills, creativity and problem-solving capabilities.
Registrar Prof. Amish Vyas said the laboratories would strengthen the University’s academic and research ecosystem by enabling applied research, interdisciplinary projects and product development for students and faculty.
The laboratories will also bring together students, researchers, faculty members and industry experts to develop prototypes and technology solutions for real-world applications.
The two laboratories expand Adani University’s capabilities in AI and advanced engineering, providing students, researchers and faculty with greater opportunities for hands-on learning, applied research and industry collaboration.
