Three schools in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, received bomb threats via email on Monday, May 6, according to local police. The authorities are currently investigating the matter.
This incident comes on the heels of a similar situation in Delhi and Noida on May 1, where several schools received bomb-threat emails. The threats caused widespread panic among school management, parents, and law enforcement authorities. Security teams were promptly dispatched to the various schools to conduct thorough searches of the premises, all while maintaining a calm atmosphere for the students. The threats were later determined to be a hoax.
The Delhi Police’s Special Cell, in collaboration with the CBI and Interpol, traced the origin of the email to mail.ru, a server based in Moscow, Russia. A case has been registered by the Special Cell of the Delhi Police under relevant legal provisions for offences such as conspiracy and threat. A dedicated team has been formed to conduct the investigation, an official stated.
This is a developing story.
