A girl, who has become a drug addict was caught by SOG Crime from S G Highway in Ahmedabad. Seemingly from a well-to-do family, the girl has become a drug peddler herself to meet the expenses to satiate her own drug addiction, it was revealed.
The young woman, associated with an event management company earlier, had become addicted to alcohol first while working in Goa. She used drugs for the first time in 2017 with a group of friends. For the second time, she had drugs in Goa, which soon became an addiction.
The girl, who hails from Punjab, was in possession of MD drugs when she was caught in her car. She has made many shocking revelations. The girl going by the name of Harpreet Kaur started peddling drugs herself when she could no longer afford the cost of her own drug needs. Caught in the trap of the drug mafia, she used to buy drugs and sell to others. She has mentioned the name of one Saad Rajput from the Rakhial area of Ahmedabad as the person from whom she procured drugs. The SOG Crime Branch is currently on the trail of this person.
Police are also investigating the circumstances in which the girl went to Goa and what she did in Goa in connection with drug trade.It was also revealed that the girl was raising the child of his brother who died by suicide recently following an unhappy relationship with his wife.
Police is expecting to come to know about the names of many peddlers and addicts. Normally a domain where hardly any female can be imagined, the case of the girl peddler has surprised everyone. It is also an indicator of the worsening times and deteriorating traditional values.
