Ahmedabad city police is unrelenting in it’s quest to nab the drug peddlers is evident from busting of further two cases. While Special Operations Group ( SOG) held one person with 58.9 Kg of Posh Doda powder, the crime branch arrested six persons in Gurukul, SG Highway and Sidhu Bhavan Road for dealing in charas.
500 gm of charas worth Rs 50,000 along with mobile phones and pan cards were seized by crime branch. They also seized the car used to transport the material from Radhanpur in Bansakantha district of Gujarat bordering Rajasthan where posh doda is cultivated under strict government control. Police suspect that there could be more in possession the accussed. Police is also looking for persons from Juhapura area who supplied charas to the accused earlier.
The man arrested with Posh Doda powder is identified as Rakesh Modi (54) from Naroda. The six persons held by the crime branch are identified as Mehul Raval (34) of Mehsana, Krunal Patel (28) and Arjunsinh Zala (22) from Asarva, Brijesh Patel (37) of Sola Road, Harsh Shah (31) of Memnagar and Akhil Bhavsar (30) of Naranpura.
As per preliminary interrogation, it is revealed that Harsh Shah got addicted to drug about seven years ago and came into contact with Akhil Bhavsar and Mehul Raval later. Harsh got into drug peddling himself. Harsh used to get charas from two persons from Juhapura. The drug was sold to some young addicts in Gurukul, SG Highway and Sindhu Bhavan Road they knew.
