Ahmedabad Cops Set To Go Hi-Tech

| Updated: December 16, 2022 18:39

Prime Minister Narendra Modi may inaugurate the ultra modern office of the Commissioner of Police alongwith hi-tech data analytic centre in Ahmedabad, to be completed by April 2023. The Police authorities have sought time from the PMO.

The New seven-storey  building is planned to link more than 6,000 CCTV cameras in Ahmedabad. The new hub is conceived to compete with the likes of the New York Police Department (NYPD) facilities.
The eco-friendly building will  house an ultra-modern control room at the police headquarters in Shahibaug.

The new centre will help police  identify a crime suspect even by the color of his clothes. The technology will link the suspect with the help of his Aadhaar card, electricity bill or photo.

The new office with one of the best control rooms in the country, can accommodate 150 police personnel. It will have a data analytical center that can process 32 types of data in minutes. It will also help in identifying  the persons who absconded after committing the crime.

The system will be capable of analysing any video feed. It will provide real-time spot reports of crime detection. The control room will have automatic fire detection also. The CCTV networks will detect incidents of fire or road accidents anywhere in the city which will be immediately flashed to the fire department and police.

Built under the Smart City project, the new CP office will have security access control for two-level underground parking with a capacity of 3,000 vehicles.
