Ahmedabad Fans Again Miss Tickets For WC Clash

| Updated: September 9, 2023 13:51

The ticketing experience for the Indo-Pak World Cup match has been no less than sour for most cricket fans in the country so far. After the ticket booking site crashed last time on August 29, another chance on September 8 was also spoiled, as all the open slots for the Ahmedabad clash were booked in a short time, leaving thousands of waiting fans disappointed.

On Friday at 8 pm, the hope to get hands on a ticket for the India-Pakistan clash, and other encounters involving India, was high as BCCI had announced sale of a fresh batch of 4 lakh tickets. However, by 11 pm all the tickets were gone.

Surprisingly, tickets for other encounters in Ahmedabad like England-Australia and England-New Zealand are still unsold. After failing to get tickets for the epic India-Pakistan clash, fans are likely to zero in on non-India clashes in Ahmedabad so as to be part of the World Cup experience.

Fans in Ahmedabad, who waited for three hours and tried valiantly to somehow buy the ticket from the ticketing app, were frustrated at the system. A fan based in the city said, “I consider this (India-Pak clash) as a once in a lifetime opportunity here in the city. So, I kept waiting for two hours but was left in the queue. In the end I was shown the message that the tickets have been sold out.”

This was the third time that India-encounter tickets went live for sale. The first sale took place on August 29 where tickets were made available for the Team India matches especially for the Master Card users. The second time tickets went live on September 3 while September 8 was the third instance where sale of 4 lakh tickets went live for cricket fans all round the globe.
