Amidst the forecasts of drought in Gujarat, the state has received widespread rain in various regions. The state witnessed almost 43 percent of its seasonal rainfall in the first 20 days of September, accounting for it to reach 75 per cent overall.
Various regions in Ahmedabad received heavy spells of rain till 12 noon, today. The regions of east zone in Ahmedabad has received 0.67 mm, the west zone regions have received 13.25 mm, the north-west zone regions have received 39.13 mm, South-west zone regions have received 10.50 mm, the central zone regions have received 5.25 mm, the north zone region have received 0.17 mm and the south zone regions have received 9.75 mm rainfall till 12 pm, according to the rainfall data report by Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation.
The city has received a total of 662 mm of rainfall in the season as of September 27. With south zone accounting for the highest amount of the season’s rainfall at 752.25 mm followed by the east zone with 708.10 mm rainfall in the season. The lowest rainfall was recorded in the west zone with 584.90 mm rainfall in the season.
